1. Baturinsky kuren, the name comes from the town of Baturin, Bakhmachsky district, Chernihiv region, located near the left tributary of the Desna Seim. In 1669 - 1708, Baturyn was the residence of the hetmans Demyan Mnogohrishny, Ivan Samoylovich, Ivan Mazepa, and in 1750 - 1764 - Kirill Razumovsky. 

2. Vedmedovsky (Vedmedivsky, Medvedovsky) kuren - from the village of Vedmedivka, which is located near the right tributary of the Dnieper to the Tyasmin River in the Chigirinsky district of the Cherkasy region. 

3. Vyshestebleevsky (Vyshchestebliivsky) kuren - from the town of Stebliiv, which is located near the right tributary of the Dnieper Ros in the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky district of the Cherkasy region.

The settlements are known from historical sources from 1408. From the time of Bogdan Khmelnytsky, it was the center of the Menskaya Hundred of the Chernihiv Cossack Regiment.
